2nd Round Auditions
We’ve finished up our 2nd round of SKYMAN auditions despite Lucifer’s best efforts to thwart our progress. Despite a pretty grim weather forecast, the sun actually came out for part of the day and the rain itself was fairly light, which made for a solid turnout for the day. I’m always amazed at how jazzed the actors are after my audition process. It seems that it’s not too often they get a chance to improv during a reading. For me, it’s essential to work that exercise in to a

Auditions Round 1
Originally posted Feb 13, 2017 - Just finished our first round of auditions for the primary roles; Gina and Carl. I love this phase of the process. For me, it's the first time when the words you're writing start to come to life. When a good actor walks into the room and gives your characters a 'voice', it's exhilarating. Sometimes, it's not exactly what you had in mind, but embracing that change, that moment of the unexpected, is where magic can happen...but only if you're op

MUFON

Originally posted Jan 5, 2017 - How technology can be your friend... Someone once said that making a film is not a democracy, it’s a dictatorship. I tend to agree. Not because I feel the need to control people, but because I feel the need to not be controlled myself. You see, I still believe that filmmaking is about storytelling. Plain and simple. If you’re thinking of it solely in terms of commerce, then you’re not a filmmaker, you’re a widget-maker. Only your widget comes p

Desert Time
Originally posted Jan 31, 2017 - Spending a week out in the desert near Joshua Tree. It's my favorite place to go to get away from it all and focus on writing. After our successful Indiegogo campaign, I'm transitioning from 'salesman' to 'script writer' with the goal of tweaking the final act on SKYMAN and draw a little inspiration for 'big sky country'. With all that's going on in politics today, it's a needed distraction.

Indiegogo going strong!
Originally posted December 10th, 2016 - We've reached a 10% raise in just two days. About a month to go, so hopefully we'll be well on our way. Gonna start reaching out to fans for testimonials. They can submit video if they want right on the Skyman page. Would love to review some of these for possible inclusion in the film.

Dread Central
Originally posted December 9th, 2016 - I love these guys. They did us up right back in the day on "Believers." Read the 'Skyman' article here. We're just getting our feet wet with this crowdfunding stuff. So far so good. How liberating will it be if we're able to get a good chunk of funding from the fans themselves? I'd much rather work for them than for some executive sitting in an ivory tower, ( I assume that's what their towers are made of).

SKYMAN on Variety!
Originally posted Dec 8th, 2016 - Nice write up by Variety moments before we launched our campaign for 'Skyman'. Read about it here.

SOFT LAUNCH
Originally posted: Dec 4, 2016 - We're one day away from the 'soft launch' of the SKYMAN Indiegogo campaign. Looking forward to see how this new approach to marketing/funding works for us. I've been wanting to give it a go for quite sometime and this project is a perfect fit.
